Forgiveness Meditation
Teaching the teachers
The purpose of this guided visualization is to bring the person who still suffers from upsetting memories and trauma, or the resonance anger, to raise their vibration from shame, rage, anger, vindictiveness to the vibration of acceptance and gratitude, where healing and release can happen. The example I give provides the person to release three emotions or traumas, which I find is as much as I can do in one session. There are often more than three that need to be released, so I suggest that you do one, up to three at a time, and then, in a few days go back and do this visualization again. If you only feel that one at a time is what you can do, then do the one. This can be a “go to” for forgive situations and emotions for the rest of your life.
I have found that reading and recording the text to my phone with gentle music, or silence, I prefer allows me to not be distracted and I can pull up the recording anytime I can be alone for about 20 minutes. Most cell phones have a voice recorder app already installed.
As you do this visualization, you will notice a graduation of states that start at choosing the emotion or event you want to heal. From there we create a feeling of being safe and calm.
The best position I find comfortable is in a chair sitting up, with my hands resting on my legs, palms up. But, if you are already doing some kind of meditation and have been taught to sit cross-legged and it is comfortable for you, then do that. We do a little intentional travel to a place full of Christs’ Living Water. (I use Jesus, because that is a common American religion, however, if you not Christian and are more comfortable with “God” or “Source”, “Creator”, “True Light” also works .) We submerse in it being able to breath, and then we sit in the soft sand. I don’t encourage you to do this visualization laying down, since I tend to have to fight off going to sleep. You are not going into hypnotic mode. You need to stay focused, awake, and intentional in every step of this visualization process.
This can be done with eyes open or closed, whichever is going to help you feel the safest.
We talk about and use our hands and feet. If they are not physically present on someone, imagine they are there, and follow the process in your mind’s eye.
As with EFT, you break the larger, or long-term injuries or emotions into smaller parts so that the Spririt can change the vibrations without causing overwhelm.
The Meditation
In your mind, you can see that you are in a large park like area, green grass, trees, small hills, and a walking path. The weather is blue skies, with a few clouds, a gentle cool breeze. Perfect conditions.
You see that you are bare foot, and standing on a white sandy path. The sand feels good on your feet, and you enjoy the feeling of being there. The path leads through a small stand of trees and goes over a gentle hill. You start walking and as you clear the trees and the top of the hill, you see that there is a large lake surrounded by forest. You notice that the path leads to a beach and you head there walking and enjoying the beauty of the place.
When you get to the beach you notice a large shade tree that has a park bench to sit on. You take a moment to sit on the bench, dig your toes in the warm sand and just enjoy the moment.
You decide to put your feet in the water. The water feels a little cold, but not so cold it feels uncomfortable. In fact, it feels refreshing and invites you to continue in. It doesn’t matter what you have on, this moment is perfect. You decide to let the water fully embrace you and go all the way in. You notice that the water gives a tingling sensation that makes you feel energized, comforted, curious. You go all the way in and as your head goes under you realize you can breathe the same as if you had air.
You decide to sit in the white, soft sand, cross-legged. Place your hands on your legs with their palms up.
Look around you and watch the rays from the sun dance through the water. They appear and are gone in an instant. They seem to dance in chaos, but then the rhythm becomes evident. It is beautiful and soothing and magical. It creates another perfect moment.
In your left hand, create an image or a shape, a statuette that represents the thing you want to forgive.
In your right hand, create a crystalline bubble about the size of your object. Slide the object into the bubble and let them both rest in your right hand.
Think about all the all the things you learned from this item. Place no judgement on whether or not this item’ lessons has been good or bad. Notice the emotions you feel and realize that they are not as strong. Thank that item for teaching you about the things you learned.
Notice that light rays are attracted to the crystal bubble. They start out as white as the sun rays, but some light rays become colorful. They can be blue, yellow, violet, and occasionally a green or light red sun ray appears.
They come and go, and as they do you notice that the color of your item is changing from a dark color, to a lighter color and eventually to start to turn white.
When it is white, you look above and watch the pattern of the sun reflecting to the light. It call the item in your hand. Raise the bubble, release it and let it rise to the surface. As it breaks the surface you see that it has burst and the item is gone.
2nd issue to Forgive
- Look at your hands resting on your thighs. Palms up, place another item or issue that needs to be forgiven. Create it the same way, give it a name, a color, a shape. Then create your crystal bubble in your right hand and move your item into the bubble.
- Allow and even invite the light to come to that image and watch the colored rays of light transform that item’s shape, color, and meaning, until it is white. Release it to float slowly to the surface and burst as it hits the air.
- If desired, look at your hands and create a third item to be forgiven the same way. Create the bubble in the other hand and put them together.
- In your right hand, create a crystalline bubble about the size of your object. Slide the object into the bubble and let them both rest in your right hand.
- Think about the things you learned from this part of your experience and list them in your mind. They are not good or bad, they just are and your knowledge of them has taught you much. Fill your heart with gratitude again.
- When it is white, you look above and watch the pattern of the sun reflecting to the light at the surface. It calls the item in your hand. Raise the bubble, release it and let it rise to the surface. As it breaks the surface you see that it has burst and the item is gone again.
3rd issue to forgive.
- Do this a 3rd time if you would like. Create the shape, put it in the bubble, think about what your learned from it. Give it the feeling of acceptance and gratitude. Let the light from above flash all over it until it turns white and let it go.
- Now that this is done, you feel the need to return to the beach and so you rise up, walk slowly enjoying the light rays as they dance through the water.
- Walk towards the dry ground and as your body breaks the surface of the water, notice that you instantly become dry.
- You notice the beach, and there under the shade tree a man is standing by the bench waiting for you. The man raises his arms to invite you to join him and as you get closer, you realize it is Jesus. You feel loved, welcomed, wanted. As you reach him, his arms come up to embrace you. The feeling of pure, unconditional love and acceptance saturates every part of your being. Jesus thanks you for returning that hardship to him. He tells you that he never meant for it to be yours so long. He has received it and healed it, and it will be part of your story in this life, but it will not be A problem for you anymore.
- Jesus releases you. He invites you to go learn the other things you came here to learn but to return the things that needs to be healed as soon as you feel the need to do that.
- You start to walk back to your life, and then you come out of this meditation. Repeat as necessary.
